Design Haus Liberty pendant lighting chandelier was presented with a challenge to create light installations on the third floor of this refurbished 1820’s cast-iron, developer project. Our private client has asked us to create two art/architecture installations which take advantage of the high ceiling space and the industrial nature of the original features within the building. Our process has been to design scripted forms in Grasshopper and then collaborate with glass blowers and metal fabricators in Suffolk, UK to reproduce these forms.

The name “Crystal Elephant” originated from the calculated weight of our installation, equivalent to that of a small elephant and made up of a series of materials and hanging crystals attached to the ceiling.
